In the 1700s, some nobles of Naples decided to build country villas where they could spend their moments of leisure, breathe the fresh air of the hill, isolate themselves from the chaos of the city, enjoying large gardens with decorated loggias, fountains and fruit plants, and organize parties and hunting trips.
The property is a portion of an antique building of the 1761 and it embodies all its characteristics.
Crossing the door of the property, you can access to a large courtyard that contains a whole series of less noble functions, but useful to sustain the general economy of the dwelling: the barn, the oil mill, the sty, the woodshed. Below the courtyard level, we find the large and ventilated cellar with barrel vaults and equipped with a ventilation system, which allows the air to be cool and not humid through fireplaces that open onto the garden above.
The main staircase has a spiral design and it plays a prominent role in the architecture of the palace.
The master apartment is over 250 square meters, with decorated ceilings and high-quality floors.
The rooms are all communicating with each other and they evoke a long past time.
The property needs major renovation; however, the remarkable consistency, the good workmanship and the favorable location offer the opportunity to consider it an urban destination not only for hospitality purpose.

The property is located in Santa Maria a Vico, a small town in the province of Caserta and it has been developed completely on the Appia road (Antica and Nuova).
The Romans built the city during the second Samnite war with a military purpose. Once the function of military city ended, the Appia has been opened to public traffic and, to meet the needs of travelers and inhabitants, the city was enriched with new houses and restaurants. The new village has been called Vicus Novanensis.
During the Aragonese domination, Santa Maria a Vico had an important development and the city played a crucial role as commercial point of reference in the southern Italy. Today it represents a dynamic center between the provinces of Benevento (25 km), Caserta (16 km), and Naples (35 km).
The agriculture economy has always represented the main financial pillar of the Santa Maria a Vico’s municipality. However, thanks to its favorable geographical position and its important road network, the city established an economy based also on trade. Lately, the industry had a boost and nowadays about 60 industrial businesses are open. There are also banks and post office complexes.
