Our dogs are a huge part of our lives, they are our family members. And what better than to enjoy a beach day with your pooch! But unfortunately, not all beaches allow dogs. To make all of our lives easier, we have gathered a list of dog friendly beaches in various countries in Europe so that you and your pooch can have a sunny day by the sea!
First, let’s start with two dog friendly beaches in Portugal:
Porto da Areia Norte
Viana De Castelo Praia do Cabedelo
- Sand beach
- Make sure to keep your dog on a leash here!
Here are 3 in Barcelona, Spain:
Cala Vallcarca in Sitges
- Wild beach with no services so make sure to bring everything you might need!
Llevant beach in Barcelona
- Sandy beach
- You should register your pet at the census to be able to bring it here! And make sure to bring their veterinary documents
Playa de Les Salines in Cubelles
- Sandy beach
- Just make sure you’re being responsible with your pup!
And now for some Italian beaches:
Starting off with those in Sicily:
Bau Bau beach in Priolo Gargallo
- Free entrance but paid parking
- They organize classes and games to improve the relationships between pets and people
- There is even veterinary assistance if required
Bau Bau beach in Brolo
- Another Bau Bau beach but this time in Brolo
- Very similar to the other beach but this one even offers sugar free ice-cream for dogs!
Lido sabbie nere e acque calde in Vulcano
- Famous for its therapeutic mud, this is a great place to enjoy with your dogs!
- They are also free to swim here
Tuscany:
Pascià Glam Beach in Perelli
- White Sandy beach
- Perfect for going for a swim with your dog!
Mola in Porto Azzurro
- Gravel beach but perfect for those who prefer calm and quiet as this one tends to be less crowded
Orbetello’s La Feniglia in the Maremma region
- This beach has a dedicated dog area
- You can bring a maximum of two furry friends per person and there is also a designated swimming area for them marked my buoys
Bau Bau beach in Marina di Grosetto
- Equipped with special dog showers, sun beds and umbrellas for dog owners, it’s the perfect beach to enjoy with your doggy friends!
And finally, let’s head to France! In France, some beaches allow dogs only in the winter but not in the summer. In this blogpost, we’ll be sticking to beaches that allow dogs year-round!
