COVID-19 has caused people to rethink every aspect of their lives, as can be expected when you’re stuck at home in lockdown. It has changed the way we work, shop, and interact with each other. Working at home has become the new norm, and many companies are restructuring their offices to continue partly working from home, after the pandemic is over. Which is great news for those of us who are sea lovers because this will allow for working from your favourite holiday destination.
It appears more and more people are taking advantage of this, as a study conducted by Knight Frank found that over 25% of the people surveyed said they were more likely to buy a holiday home because of the pandemic. Presumably because of companies allowing more flexibility when it comes to the location of the work. Although work from home might not always seem like an ideal situation, with many distractions around and the need of a proper work space,- it actually offers a flexibility that the words “work from home” don’t quite communicate. This work from home adaptation means you can work from anywhere, most importantly including your favourite spot by the sea.
Imagine being able to go to the sea for months at a time - rather than just going on your allocated vacation times - and working during the day but being able to take a nice dip in the sea for a refreshing break. Or enjoying a cool drink under the warm sun. Imagine the productivity and motivation levels this would bring! Just waking up under the sun gives us the vitamin D we need for lots of energy and motivation.
The weekends can be spent exploring beach to beach, eating delicious foods, and getting a tan under the sun. The weekdays hard work, with your toes in the white sands under an umbrella by the beach. I don’t think there is anything else we could ask for…. A dream come true.
The only downside of this flexibility we foresee is how to narrow down which beautiful city you will chose! Oh what a wonderful problem to have…
